DarkWood Forum Rules
Every individual is responsible for his or her posts and for all content in those posts, whether verbal or graphic, including avatars and banners. Posts by NPCs or "non-playable characters" are deemed to be made by the player who created the NPC. The following rules are meant to help everyone in this roleplay environment. Again, the most important thing to keep in mind is that this is a roleplay forum - it is supposed to be fun. When it stops being fun for you or for someone else, it is time to step back and to consider whether you are staying within the limits of these rules.

All violations of forum posting rules will be judged by the Admins of this board. The admin team includes: Judge, Law, and Order.
All questions, problems and/or concerns should be directed to one of us. You are welcome to post your questions here, or pm one of us. We strive to answer questions within 24 hours, but remember we are human and have real lives; sometimes it will take longer.

Article 1. Flaming, Harassment and Baiting
Passionate and emotional roleplay can be the most interesting and exciting. This is to be encouraged and nurtured by players and moderators alike. It must be remembered that real people with real feelings exist behind DarkWood characters; therefore, there is a limit to what can, should, and will be allowed. If your character does not like another character, enjoy the conflict. If you do not like another player, please use PMs to communicate; this forum will not tolerate out of character flaming, harassment, and baiting. We are all adults here. Let's act like it!

Article 2. Offensive Content
Offensive content, either written or in images, is prohibited on the forums, both in private and public view. Offensive content includes racist, hateful, pornographic, extreme violence and profanity. Any post or private message, whether in character or out of character, that contains offensive content will be considered in violation.

Forum Violation Protocols
DarkWood (DW) operates under a cumulative progressive point system for forum violations. The Administration realize that people make mistakes and wish to give players the benefit of the doubt. To this end, moderators will handle most simple violations behind the scenes, with a simple private message (PM) to the Player. It is hoped that players will take these PMs and warnings as lessons and adhere to established forum rules from there on. Some more serious violations will earn immediate suspensions or bans to forum access; if the problem persists, a permanent ban may become instituted.

Three strike rule:
Warning - this is not announced on the forum and a simple private message will be sent to the player informing of the forum rule violation.
Suspension - this is announced on the forum and may last between 24-48 hours depending on the severity of the offense.
Ban - this is announced on the forum and may last for a period of 3-5 days depending on the severity of the offense.
Permanent Ban - this is announced on the forum and is the ultimate punishment for those that do not know how to behave themselves in public.

Please remember: All administration decisions are final.

NPC's, Masks, or Second Characters

Administration understand that some members would like to have a NPC (non-playable character), mask, or second character. We do not usually restrict members from this practice; however, approval by administration is necessary. New accounts may not be the same species as your main character.

Some people wonder why do admins restrict the creation of accounts? This is for a few reasons.
1. To disallow circumventing of a ban.
2. To reduce spammers/bots on the board.
3. To allow fresh faces to appear in our community.

If you would like to have any of the above, please fill out the form below and inform admin from your main account prior to creating a new character. We review all new registrations against current registrations prior to activation; as a result, we will know if you already have an account on these forums. Members who choose to create new accounts without approval will be automatically denied.
